YOUTH VOLUNTEERS

We have a very active teen group of volunteers at the Louis Brier. As many of our residents do not have families in town, the enjoyment derived from having young people visit is priceless. Intergenerational connections benefit everyone and there are many opportunities for youth volunteers at the Louis Brier and Snider Campus.

  • Drop in after school on weekdays to visit, take residents for a walk, play table games
  • Give a manicure, assist the admin staff with mail delivery and database entry
  • Share your talents and interests: teach computers, create art, play music, call bingo
  • Help out with evening programs: hockey night, movie night, choir, bingo and evening concerts
  • Adopt a Bubbe or Zaide, build new friendships and learn about their life experience
  • Celebrate Shabbat and Jewish Holidays in a warm family atmosphere
  • Practice your Hebrew, French, Russian, Mandarin and many other languages
  • Explore career options in the Health Care Field, Nursing, Rehab, Social Work
  • High School Students can complete your CAP volunteer requirements

Please Note: Volunteers under the age of 15 must either be part of a supervised group, accompanied by an adult or available to volunteer when a staff supervisor is present.
